Being a volunteer coach is not a task our board takes lightly. Most of us have come from the position of coaching or are still coaching. It's a job that can be hard, but in the long run, when you look back it is so rewarding. A lot of us take on the task of being a "coach" but it's not just being a coach, you are a teacher, a supporter, an encourager, a role model, an event planner, a parent, a father/mother figure and most of all a mentor.
As a coach in our RCY Baseball & Softball league, you must be organized and dedicated to teaching skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication and not winning. You will need to be dedicated enough to make practices knowledgeable and fun and know how to give inspirational talks before and after the games no matter the outcome.
